Public Lectures for Non-Scientists
Kirksville Chapter of Sigma Xi
Science and technology impacts every aspect of our lives. It is important, therefore, that everyone has at least a basic understanding of science. This is particularly true in a democracy where all citizens have a voice in formulating society's laws and priorities. In order to increase our community's awareness of current scientific topics, the Kirksville Chapter of Sigma Xi sponsors non-technical talks which are intended for adults (and high-school students) who do not have a background in science. These lectures are free and open to the public. For more information about these lectures, contact any member of the Kirksville Sigma Xi Outreach Committee.
